提多書(Titus) cuv≡多≡1≡1≡神的僕人,耶穌基督的使徒保羅,憑著神選民的信心與敬虔真理的知識, rsv≡多≡1≡1≡Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth which accords with godliness, cuv≡多≡1≡2≡盼望那無謊言的神在萬古之先所應許的永生, rsv≡多≡1≡2≡in hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised ages ago cuv≡多≡1≡3≡到了日期,藉著傳揚的功夫把他的道顯明了。這傳揚的責任是按著神我們救主的命令交託了我。 rsv≡多≡1≡3≡and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by command of God our Savior; cuv≡多≡1≡4≡現在寫信給提多,就是照著我們共信之道作我真兒子的。願恩惠、平安從父神和我們的救主基督耶穌歸與你! rsv≡多≡1≡4≡To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. cuv≡多≡1≡5≡我從前留你在革哩底,是要你將那沒有辦完的事都辦整齊了,又照我所吩咐你的,在各城設立長老。 rsv≡多≡1≡5≡This is why I left you in Crete, that you might amend what was defective, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you, cuv≡多≡1≡6≡若有無可指責的人,只作一個婦人的丈夫,兒女也是信主的,沒有人告他們是放蕩不服約束的,就可以設立。 rsv≡多≡1≡6≡if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of being profligate or insubordinate. cuv≡多≡1≡7≡監督既是神的管家,必須無可指責,不任性,不暴躁,不因酒滋事,不打人,不貪無義之財; rsv≡多≡1≡7≡For a bishop, as God's steward, must be blameless; he must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, cuv≡多≡1≡8≡樂意接待遠人,好善,莊重,公平,聖潔自持; rsv≡多≡1≡8≡but hospitable, a lover of goodness, master of himself, upright, holy, and self-controlled; cuv≡多≡1≡9≡堅守所教真實的道理,就能將純正的教訓勸化人,又能把爭辯的人駁倒了。 rsv≡多≡1≡9≡he must hold firm to the sure word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to confute those who contradict it. cuv≡多≡1≡10≡因為有許多人不服約束,說虛空話欺哄人;那奉割禮的更是這樣。 rsv≡多≡1≡10≡For there are many insubordinate men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially the circumcision party; cuv≡多≡1≡11≡這些人的口總要堵住。他們因貪不義之財,將不該教導的教導人,敗壞人的全家。 rsv≡多≡1≡11≡they must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for base gain what they have no right to teach. cuv≡多≡1≡12≡有革哩底人中的一個本地先知說:『革哩底人常說謊話,乃是惡獸,又饞又懶。』 rsv≡多≡1≡12≡One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, 'Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.' cuv≡多≡1≡13≡這個見證是真的。所以,你要嚴嚴的責備他們,使他們在真道上純全無疵, rsv≡多≡1≡13≡This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, cuv≡多≡1≡14≡不聽猶太人荒渺的言語和離棄真道之人的誡命。 rsv≡多≡1≡14≡instead of giving heed to Jewish myths or to commands of men who reject the truth. cuv≡多≡1≡15≡在潔淨的人,凡物都潔淨。在污穢不信的人,甚麼都不潔淨,連心地和天良也都污穢了。 rsv≡多≡1≡15≡To the pure all things are pure, but to the corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are corrupted. cuv≡多≡1≡16≡他們說是認識神,行事卻和他相背。本是可憎惡的,是悖逆的,在各樣善事上是可廢棄的。 rsv≡多≡1≡16≡They profess to know God, but they deny him by their deeds; they are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good deed. cuv≡多≡2≡1≡但你所講的總要合乎那純正的道理。 rsv≡多≡2≡1≡But as for you, teach what befits sound doctrine. cuv≡多≡2≡2≡勸老年人要有節制、端莊、自守,在信心、愛心、忍耐上都要純全無疵。 rsv≡多≡2≡2≡Bid the older men be temperate, serious, sensible, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. cuv≡多≡2≡3≡又勸老年婦人,舉止行動要恭敬,不說讒言,不給酒作奴僕,用善道教訓人, rsv≡多≡2≡3≡Bid the older women likewise to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or slaves to drink; they are to teach what is good, cuv≡多≡2≡4≡好指教少年婦人,愛丈夫,愛兒女, rsv≡多≡2≡4≡and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, cuv≡多≡2≡5≡謹守,貞潔,料理家務,待人有恩,順服自己的丈夫,免得神的道理被毀謗。 rsv≡多≡2≡5≡to be sensible, chaste, domestic, kind, and submissive to their husbands, that the word of God may not be discredited. cuv≡多≡2≡6≡又勸少年人要謹守。 rsv≡多≡2≡6≡Likewise urge the younger men to control themselves. cuv≡多≡2≡7≡你自己凡事要顯出善行的榜樣,在教訓上要正直、端莊, rsv≡多≡2≡7≡Show yourself in all respects a model of good deeds, and in your teaching show integrity, gravity, cuv≡多≡2≡8≡言語純全,無可指責,叫那反對的人,既無處可說我們的不是,便自覺羞愧。 rsv≡多≡2≡8≡and sound speech that cannot be censured, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say of us. cuv≡多≡2≡9≡勸僕人要順服自己的主人,凡事討他的喜歡,不可頂撞他, rsv≡多≡2≡9≡Bid slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to be refractory, cuv≡多≡2≡10≡不可私拿東西。要顯為忠誠,以致凡事尊榮我們救主神的道。 rsv≡多≡2≡10≡nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior. cuv≡多≡2≡11≡因為神救眾人的恩典已經顯明出來, rsv≡多≡2≡11≡For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men, cuv≡多≡2≡12≡教訓我們除去不敬虔的心和世俗的情慾,在今世自守、公義、敬虔度日, rsv≡多≡2≡12≡training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world, cuv≡多≡2≡13≡等候所盼望的福,並等候至大的神和(或作:無和字)我們救主耶穌基督的榮耀顯現。 rsv≡多≡2≡13≡awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, cuv≡多≡2≡14≡他為我們捨了自己,要贖我們脫離一切的罪惡,又潔淨我們,特作自己的子民,熱心為善。 rsv≡多≡2≡14≡who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds. cuv≡多≡2≡15≡這些事你要講明,勸戒人,用各等權柄責備人;不可叫人輕看你。 rsv≡多≡2≡15≡Declare these things; exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you. cuv≡多≡3≡1≡你要提醒眾人,叫他們順服作官的、掌權的,遵他的命,預備行各樣的善事。 rsv≡多≡3≡1≡Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for any honest work, cuv≡多≡3≡2≡不要毀謗,不要爭競,總要和平,向眾人大顯溫柔。 rsv≡多≡3≡2≡to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all men. cuv≡多≡3≡3≡我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受迷惑、服事各樣私慾和宴樂,常存惡毒(或作:陰毒)嫉妒的心,是可恨的,又是彼此相恨。 rsv≡多≡3≡3≡For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our daysin malice and envy, hated by men and hating one another; cuv≡多≡3≡4≡但到了神我們救主的恩慈和他向人所施的慈愛顯明的時候, rsv≡多≡3≡4≡but when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, cuv≡多≡3≡5≡他便救了我們;並不是因我們自己所行的義,乃是照他的憐憫,藉著重生的洗和聖靈的更新。 rsv≡多≡3≡5≡he saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit, cuv≡多≡3≡6≡聖靈就是神藉著耶穌基督我們救主厚厚澆灌在我們身上的, rsv≡多≡3≡6≡which he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, cuv≡多≡3≡7≡好叫我們因他的恩得稱為義,可以憑著永生的盼望成為後嗣。(或作:可以憑著盼望承受永生)。 rsv≡多≡3≡7≡so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life. cuv≡多≡3≡8≡這話是可信的。我也願你把這些事切切實實的講明,使那些已信神的人留心作正經事業(或作:留心行善)。這都是美事,並且與人有益。 rsv≡多≡3≡8≡The saying is sure. I desire you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men. cuv≡多≡3≡9≡要遠避無知的辯論和家譜的空談,以及紛爭,並因律法而起的爭競,因為這都是虛妄無益的。 rsv≡多≡3≡9≡But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile. cuv≡多≡3≡10≡分門結黨的人,警戒過一兩次,就要棄絕他。 rsv≡多≡3≡10≡As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him, cuv≡多≡3≡11≡因為知道這等人已經背道,犯了罪,自己明知不是,還是去作。 rsv≡多≡3≡11≡knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned. cuv≡多≡3≡12≡我打發亞提馬或是推基古到你那裡去的時候,你要趕緊往尼哥坡里去見我,因為我已經定意在那裡過冬。 rsv≡多≡3≡12≡When I send Artemas or Tych'icus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicop'olis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. cuv≡多≡3≡13≡你要趕緊給律師西納和亞波羅送行,叫他們沒有缺乏。 rsv≡多≡3≡13≡Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apol'los on their way; see that they lack nothing. cuv≡多≡3≡14≡並且我們的人要學習正經事業(或作:要學習行善),預備所需用的,免得不結果子。 rsv≡多≡3≡14≡And let our people learn to apply themselves to good deeds, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not to be unfruitful. cuv≡多≡3≡15≡同我在一處的人都問你安。請代問那些因有信心愛我們的人安。願恩惠常與你們眾人同在。 rsv≡多≡3≡15≡All who are with me send greetings to you.
