PURPOSE
The center provides various activities which promote physical, intellectual, emotional and social development and encourages positive interaction among parents, children, and staff.
PROGRAMS
Our programs include:
HOURS
The center is open year-round from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The center reserves the right to close in the event of severe weather or other emergency situations.
HOLIDAYS
The center is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a weekend or if additional closings are scheduled, the center will announce these dates.
DAILY SCHEDULES
Schedules are designed to meet individual age/class needs and include activities such as circle time, free time, snack/lunch, nap/rest time, art, music, science, and fine and gross motor development. Daily schedules are posted on each classroom door. Each child will receive a monthly newsletter and calendar which outlines special events and information. Please be aware of your child's daily schedule and current activities. All classrooms have daily journals to chart each child's activities and behavior for the day.
SNACKS/LUNCH
Parents must provide lunch and 2 snacks each day as well as a cup and eating utensils. Items which are perishable must be put in our refrigerator (NO COLD PACKS MAY BE USED). Foods or beverages partially (but not totally) consumed must be disposed of after meal times. The day care will provide milk and juice for lunch and snacks. We are unable to warm food for snack/lunch. Also, children may not chew gum at anytime.
ENROLLMENT/FEES
Admission, the provision of services, and referrals of clients shall be made without regard to race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, national origin, age or sex. Children are accepted for enrollment on a full time (5 days a week) basis only. Class size and fees are determined by the age of the child and are as follows:
Other fees include a $10.00 enrollment fee and a $25.00 equipment fee collected upon enrollment and each September 1st. An older sibling who is enrolled receives a 20% discount on daily fees. Children may be contracted for a maximum of 9 hours of day care per day. Any children in attendance for more than 15 minutes past contracted hours will be charged $5.00 for each 30 minutes or part thereof. ALL FEES MUST BE PAID ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE. Payment may be made by cash or check and placed in the box in the office. Returned checks will be charged a service fee. We reserve the right to terminate day care services to any family with a delinquent account. An account is determined to be delinquent if payment-in-full is not made by Friday of the week services have been rendered. We also require a summer enrollment deposit and have additional fees to reserve or hold spots for enrollment.
The day care is a non-profit organization. All fees collected from parents for day care services are used to cover center costs, including staff wages, classroom equipment and supplies, and other day care needs and expenses. In addition to fees the parents pay for services, the First Presbyterian Church and its congregation also help to support the center in its financial needs.
LICENSE
We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and are approved by the Department of Labor and Industry. The center undergoes regular inspections by these agencies.
