Sermon Topic: 敬拜心, 事奉情The heart of Worship and the passion for Service 

Scriptures: Romans 12

Introduction

  • “敬拜心, 事奉情”

o        你對敬拜與事奉的了解是什麼? 思考過它們彼此的關係嗎? 敬拜與事奉使你更親進神嗎?

o       敬拜不只是參加敬拜聚會, 唱詩讚美. 這些是敬拜的方式和表達.

o       事奉不只是在教堂, 或為教會服務, 作作事. 各種事工都是事奉的表達.

 

  • 有一段耶穌與文士的對話, 說明了敬拜的真意, 以及敬拜和事奉的關係.

可12:28 有一個文士來、聽見他們辯論、曉得耶穌回答的好、就問他說、誡命中那是第一要緊的呢。 

12:29 耶穌回答說、第一要緊的、就是說、以色列阿、你要聽．主我們　神、是獨一的主。 (敬拜的對象 object of worship)

12:30 你要盡心、盡性、盡意、盡力、愛主你的　神。(敬拜的心態 attitude of worship)

12:31 其次、就是說、要愛人如己。再沒有比這兩條誡命更大的了。(敬拜的落實 realization of worship)

12:32 那文士對耶穌說、夫子說、　神是一位、實在不錯．除了他以外、再沒有別的　神．

12:33 並且盡心、盡智、盡力、愛他、又愛人如己、就比一切燔祭、和各樣祭祀、好的多。 (敬拜的認知 understanding of worship)

12:34a 耶穌見他回答的有智慧、就對他說、你離　神的國不遠了。(敬拜的影響 effect of worship)

 

  • 什麼是“敬拜心, 事奉情” 呢?  簡言之, 就是全心愛祂, 以感情, 以理性, 以實際行動來表達對上帝的愛. Worship is to love Him and to live for Him passionately, thoughtfully, and practically. 這是 一生的功課. 凡事討神喜悅 (敬拜), 好像為主所作 (事奉).

·        Romans 12 教導我們如何落實 “敬拜與事奉.” 藉今天的信息, 我們彼此勉勵在敬拜, 事奉上, 有更進一步的領會.

 

Message Outline

羅12:1 所以弟兄們、我以　神的慈悲勸你們、將身體獻上、當作活祭、是聖潔的、是　神所喜悅的．你們如此事奉、乃是理所當然的。

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. [which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.]

 

  • 1. 敬拜與事奉 是一體的兩面

(Worship and Service are two sides of a coin)

    • …你們如此事奉、乃是理所當然的 = which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. 合理的事奉與屬靈的敬拜
    • 敬拜與事奉猶如心與情不能分割. 敬拜之心, 事奉之情, 自然而然表達在事工上.

Example - A story about “Jesus loves me…”

A service honored the retired senior pastor and he was asked, “What was the greatest lesson ever learned in my 50 yrs of preaching?”

I thought about it for a few days and boiled it down to just one thing that made the most difference in my life and sustained me through all my trials.  The one thing that I could always rely on when tears and heart break and pain and fear and sorrow paralyzed me......the only thing that would comfort was this verse....

  "Jesus loves me this I know.

  For the Bible tells me so.

  Little ones to him belong,                     
  We are weak but he is strong.....
  Yes, Jesus loves me...
  The Bible tells me so."

“耶穌愛我, 我知道, 因為聖經告訴我. 小小孩童都屬他, 我雖軟弱主剛強.

主耶穌愛我, 主耶穌愛我, 主耶穌愛我, 因為聖經告訴我.”

    • 耶穌愛我, 我知道, 因為聖經告訴我.

白髮蒼蒼, 視茫茫, 耶穌囑我常依靠,

步履危艱, 行路難, 有主扶持我勇往,

事工未盡, 心未老, 事主殷勤常微笑.

我愛耶穌, 主可知? 每日衷心向主說,

我愛耶穌, 主愛我, 耶穌喜聽我傾訴.

主耶穌愛我, 主耶穌愛我, 主耶穌愛我, 因為聖經告訴我.

 

  • 2. 敬拜與事奉 是回應神的慈恩

(Worship and service are response to God’s mercies.)

    • 所以弟兄們, 我以神的慈悲勸你們…Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, (in view of the all the mercies of God).
    • “所以” – 承先啟後… Chapter 1 – 11, 教義性, 人與神相親是藉耶穌基督12 – 16 實際的應用, 與神新的關係, 落實在敬拜, 事奉, 生活之中.
    • 罪的奴僕Slave of sins => 在基督裡得自由freedom in Christ

罪所捆綁Bondage of Sin = > 聖靈的居所dwelling place of Holy Spirit  

罪人Sinners => 神的兒女, Children of God,

      • Justified   =>  有意義的人生Righteous life
      • Sanctified => 有聖靈充滿, 與聖靈同行的人生Spirit-filled life, holy and fruitful  
      • Glorified =>  有盼望的人生Glorious hope

 

  • 3. 敬拜與事奉 是全人的委身, 落實在生活之中

(Worship and service are full commitment, realized in our daily lives.)

    • 將身體獻上 = 主權的轉移
    • 當作活祭、是聖潔的、是　神所喜悅的 = 分別為主所用, 不再是罪的工具.
    • 羅6:13 也不要將你們的肢體獻給罪作不義的器具．倒要像從死裡復活的人、將自己獻給　神．並將肢體作義的器具獻給　神。
      • Heart – delight in God’s laws
      • Eyes –  to focus on the Lord  
      • Mouth – encouraging
      • Hands – serve
      • Feet - walk in His path
    • 詩1:1 不從惡人的計謀、不站罪人的道路、不坐褻慢人的座位、 詩1:2 惟喜愛耶和華的律法、晝夜思想、這人便為有福。

從是過程, 站是立場, 坐是習慣, 因喜愛神的律法, 心歸給神, 而影響思想, 決定的過程, 立場, 習慣…

    • 敬拜與事奉, 全人的委身, 對神的感情, 自然流實在生活之中, 這是快樂的人生. 是有福的人生. 

Example - during the lunch time, I was meditating the message and reminded:

清早起來看, 紅日出東方, 雄壯像勇士, 美好像新郎

天高飛鳥過, 地闊野花香, 照我勤工作, 天父有恩光

但願今天好, 時刻靠耶穌, 頭上青天在, 心中惡念無,

樂得布衣暖, 不嫌麥飯粗, 千千萬萬事, 樣樣主幫扶 

 

羅12:2 不要效法這個世界．只要心意更新而變化、叫你們察驗何為　神的善良、純全可喜悅的旨意。

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

 

  • 4. 敬拜與事奉 是心意更新, 體驗神的旨意。

(Worship and service are mind renewing and proving God’s will.)

    • 外在 – 不被世界壓縮變成屬世的模型, 使得基督徒的特質彰顯不出來.

Example – Climb the cooperate ladder, “must smell like…”

    • 內在 – 心意更新變化 = 心被聖靈不斷的更新, 付合神的心意, 而表達與外在的生活.  心意更新變化 = Transforming from within. 蛻變 (metamorphosis)    
    • 察驗何為神的善良、純全可喜悅的旨意 = 體驗, 證明, 而接納prove and accept.

Example : buying a diamond ring…In God’s sight, He has given us a precious diamond, but until we try it, prove it, wear it and show it.

 

羅12:3 我憑著所賜我的恩、對你們各人說、不要看自己過於所當看的．要照著　神所分給各人信心的大小、看得合乎中道。

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

 

  • 5. 敬拜與事奉 是加深認識自己,  邁向成熟

(Worship and service enhance maturity.)

Example – A sister teaching in high school, asked “what is the biggest challenge?” “Not preparation, not teaching skill, but in discipline.” 在情和理的平衡.

Example – When returned from college, gave an exam…everyone failed, Mom did it again! 考試是為教育, 不是為淘汰.     

    • 敬拜心, 事奉情…可以幫助我們更加認識自己,  邁向成熟.
    • Knowing God =>謙卑, 才能寬廣, 才能得智慧.

 

羅12:4 正如我們一個身子上有好些肢體、肢體也不都是一樣的用處。

羅12:5 我們這許多人、在基督裡成為一身、互相聯絡作肢體、也是如此。 

羅12:6 按我們所得的恩賜、各有不同．或說豫言、就當照著信心的程度說豫言．(信心)
羅12:7 或作執事、就當專一執事．或作教導的、就當專一教導．(專心, 忠心)   

羅12:8 或作勸化的、就當專一勸化 (愛心)．施捨的、就當誠實 (誠心)．治理的、就當殷勤 (熱心)．憐憫人的、就當甘心。(甘心)  

 

  • 6. 敬拜與事奉 是善用恩賜服事教會

(Worship and service are using spiritual gifts to serve the church body)

    • Everyone has a spiritual gift. 當發掘, 發展, 發揮 事奉的恩賜.
      • S = Spiritual gifts
      • H = Heart
      • A = Ability
      • P = Personality
      • E = Experiences
    • Diversity in unity  多元而合一
    • 信心, 愛心, 忠心, 甘心, 熱心, 誠心, 專心…生活就可以多彩多姿.  

Example - My experiences of serving the body of Christ…

      • Distributing the program…get to know people.
      • Leading the singing…說的比唱的好聽.
      • Teaching the SS class

 

羅12:9 愛人不可虛假、惡要厭惡、善要親近。 (真誠, 明辯)
羅12:10 愛弟兄、要彼此親熱．恭敬人、要彼此推讓。(親愛, 恭敬)  
羅12:11 殷勤不可懶惰．要心裡火熱．常常服事主。 (熱心)
羅12:12 在指望中要喜樂．在患難中要忍耐。禱告要恆切．(忍耐)
羅12:13 聖徒缺乏要幫補．客要一味的款待。 (慷慨, 殷勤)
羅12:14 逼迫你們的、要給他們祝福．只要祝福、不可咒詛。 (友善)
羅12:15 與喜樂的人要同樂．與哀哭的人要同哭。 (同情)
羅12:16 要彼此同心．不要志氣高大、倒要俯就卑微的人。〔人或作事〕不要自以為聰明。 (和睦, 謙卑)
 

  • 7. 敬拜與事奉 是操練工人的品格 - 愛的品格

(Worship and service are to develop characters of a godly servant.)  

    •  神看重工人甚於工作.
    • There are 12 expressions of Agape love.
    • 敬拜與事奉不只在教會肢體之中, 在世上的日子, 每一天的挑戰都是操練神工人的品格, 都是靈裡的事奉.

 

羅12:17 不要以惡報惡、眾人以為美的事、要留心去作。
羅12:18 若是能行、總要盡力與眾人和睦。
羅12:19 親愛的弟兄、不要自己伸冤、寧可讓步、聽憑主怒．〔或作讓人發怒〕因為經上記著、『主說、伸冤在我．我必報應。』
羅12:20 所以『你的仇敵若餓了、就給他喫．若渴了、就給他喝．因為你這樣行、就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。』
羅12:21 你不可為惡所勝、反要以善勝惡。

  • 8. 敬拜與事奉 是以善勝惡影響世界

(Worship and service are to overcome evil with good and influence the world.)   

    • V. 17 – 21 六件美事: 眾人以為美的事, 與眾人和睦的事, 該讓步的事, 該等候的事, 溫暖人心的事, 以善勝惡的事. 如此便能影響世界. 而不被世界壓縮變成屬世的模型, 讓基督的形像特質彰顯出來.

 

·         敬拜與事奉是

1. 一體的兩面

2. 回應神的慈恩

3. 全人的委身

4. 體驗神的旨意

5. 加深認識自己

6. 善用恩賜, 服事教會

7. 操練神工人的品格

8. 以善勝惡, 影響世界

 

·        “敬拜心, 事奉情,” 簡言之, 就是全心愛祂, 以感情, 以理性, 以實際行動來表達對上帝的愛.

 

·         When we complete our worship service today, let me quote what Sir William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury, described the result of “worship”

o       神的聖潔甦醒我們的良心To quicken the conscience by the holiness of God,

o       神的話語充滿我們的心思To feed the mind with the truth of God,

o       神的華麗潔淨我們的想像To purge the imagination by the beauty of God,

o       神的慈愛敞開我們的心靈To open the heart to the love of God,

o       神的心意深入我們的委身To devote the will to the purpose of God.

 

·        羅12:1 所以弟兄們、我以　神的慈悲勸你們、將身體獻上、當作活祭、是聖潔的、是　神所喜悅的．你們如此事奉、乃是理所當然的。羅12:2 不要效法這個世界．只要心意更新而變化、叫你們察驗何為　神的善良、純全可喜悅的旨意。
